Shame on you: Bloomberg suggests publicly shaming bad drivers

After the NY State Legislature failed to pass a new bill allowing NYC to install 40 new speed fine cameras, Mayor Bloomberg suggested the city should look into publicly shaming speeding drivers instead.  “We’ll put up their names and pictures someplace,” Bloomberg said on his Friday radio show. “Maybe we can shame them, and we should look at that, because if Albany is not going to let us do this stuff, we’ve got to save lives."

Because the city is blocked from using the cameras to issue fines until it receives approval from Albany, Bloomberg is trying to think of alternative ways to still use the cameras to enforce the city's 30 mph speed limit.

What do you think about the Mayor's public shaming idea?  Creative thinking or Olde Tyme punishment?
