DOT Installs New Muni Meters and Raises Parking Rates in Brooklyn

Beginning Tuesday, parking meter rates at short term spaces in Brooklyn increased from $0.75 to $1.00 per hour.  As part of a new rule change, 25 cents will now buy drivers 15 minutes of time, instead of 20 minutes.  The city is also installing electronic muni-meters at traditional single spaces, as well as using them to replace traditional coin operated meters.
